ISLAND SOUNDS

Don't miss King Tide, celebrating the launch of the inaugural Tide: Redlands Coast Islands Festival.

King Tide takes place on Alcheringa | Macleay Island and celebrates creativity, sustainability and community; Tide's core themes.

Events will take place from the point you step off the ferry with pop-up theatre and street performers from 3pm.

Come and join us for the opening night celebration to kick off the exciting 10 day program of events.

Island Sounds

Island Sounds celebrates the exceptional talent of island musicians. Showcasing 12 talented artists from 6 Redlands Coast Islands - this is the must see event as part of the official opening of Tide!

Presented by: Tide Festival & Bay Music Macleay Island.

Local food outlets will open early and provide special meals and offers as part of the King Tide opening celebrations. Take away meals can be brought to the venue or you may like to dine in earlier at one of the local establishments within easy walking distance of the Community Hall. Delectable finger food will also be available to purchase within the hall plus a bar and light refreshments will be available.

PERFORMERS INCLUDE

Damon Riley (Coochiemudlo) - Talented keyboardist and composer from Coochie band Red Belly Black. Damon will be playing with the Tide Festival Band and will also be the master of ceremonies for the evening.

Paula Boo (Minjerribah | North Stradbroke) - Paula weaves her song lines through acoustic soul to create music and art that reflects her relationship with her ancestors, cultures, the oceans and land.

Tyne and Company (Alcheringa | Macleay)
- Local island success story; singer, songwriter and leading edge guitarist. You could easily believe you're listening to Tommy Emmanuel when Tyne works his magic on the guitar.

TIDE FESTIVAL BAND

Created especially for the Island Sounds concert, this hand-picked line-up features a heady array of sounds and talent from the Southern Moreton Bay Islands. Four seasoned island-based musicians have been busy collaborating to bring you songs that you love and classy original works. You’ll be rocking along to solos and band numbers from start to finish.

The Tide Festival band is: Dave Court, Paul Trenkner, Steve Russell and Tommy Barkmeyer. Throughout the evening, a series of special guest singers & instrumentalists will grace the stage to deliver a song or two alongside the smooth rhythms of the Tide Festival Band. These performers include: Chrissy Carrick I Damon Riley I Dave Wellman | Gabe Phoenix I Gary Watts I Gavin Richmond | Joe Geia I Jon Jass I OJ | Vicky Macdonald I Elly Hart.
