Art My Word challenge
A fundraiser for the volunteer-run Macleay Island Community Library, Art My Word blends literary and visual/performance arts through a community challenge to create artwork inspired by books.
The community library relies on donations to run and Art my Word is the biggest fundraiser of the year. Artists were given a random lucky dip book, no longer in circulation at the library. Each artist could interpret the book freely and had free choice of medium in their creation. They have encouraged 2D, 3D, performance and written pieces.
A record number of 80 entrants were assigned books for this year's event.
Exhibition Opening
The exhibition pre-launch will be a glamorous cocktail evening for art lovers. The first chance to see what the artists have created from their books, and to purchase a unique piece of art. Tickets include a cocktail, finger food and entertainment. There will also be a wine auction. Limited tickets available, bookings essential.
